Queen, fire, and more – latest London news from the BBC
The past few days have been pretty eventful in London. First, there was a fire at the famous Buckingham Palace. Then, a few days later, a group of protestors stormed the Houses of Parliament. And now, there have been a series of fires in the city.
The first fire happened on Sunday night at a block of flats in the Queensway area of London. The fire started on the ground floor and quickly spread to the upper floors. Thankfully, everyone in the building was evacuated safely and there were no reported injuries.
The second fire happened on Monday night at a warehouse in the docklands area. The fire caused major damage to the building and several firefighters were injured.
The third fire happened on Tuesday night at a block of flats in the Chelsea area of London. Again, the fire spread quickly and several people had to be evacuated from the building. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the first two fires is still unknown but the third fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty electrical appliance.
These fires come as a major shock to the people of London. We are all used to seeing firefighters on the news, but it is very rare for there to be multiple fires in such a short space of time.
The firefighters have been working tirelessly to put out the fires and to make sure that everyone is safe. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
